What is a Tiara Made of?

I went to the Glen Oaks Restaurant Ribbon Cutting yesterday which was a blast. I met with new Glen Ellyn Chamber Members and saw some friendly familiar faces. I was still wearing my teen tiara because my miss crown isn't in yet!! The director was kind enough to let me use this one until mine comes in. But it is not the size of the Tiara, or what it is made of, rather what you make of the Tiara! ha! I explained to the owner's daughter of Dog's n Scrubs that I was at the Ribbon Cutting because I want to support local businesses and really be an active member in my community. I told her if they ever needed me that I could come in for an appearance. Well today I was so glad when the Owner of Dogs n Scrubs came into Tirage Studio and asked for me :) I am now booked for their Grand Opening next Saturday. I will be signing autographs and meeting new people. I hope to help make this event a big success. If you need your dog groomed their business is a self serve dog wash. Bring your dog on in! ;)

Today-April 24th, 2010

Once I was finished with model consultations, interviewing possible fashion show committee members, and scheduling my week, I then made my autograph cards. Don Johnston, the owner of Tirage Studio, designed my autograph card for my Miss Glen Ellyn International appearances. I am super excited to get them out and I think they are just beautiful. Don printed one copy for me to see as a proof before we made the official order. I am giving the copy to my dad because tomorrow is going to be the last day I see him in a really long time. He is moving out of state. It makes me sad but I understand that he needs to be near the warmth. He is disabled. Therefore he needs the warmth of the sun. A lot has changed since my grandmother passed away and it is crazy how the family has branched off. I for one have decided to follow her lead and stay in Glen Ellyn. It is now that I can truly see just why she loved the community so much. I wish she was here to see me as Miss Glen Ellyn. But I know she is smiling upon me, with the best wishes. It is incredible how someones love for you can still be felt even after their passing. She was the world to me and it is my hope that I can carry on her traditions, values, and faith.
